Michele McKenzie named interim President and CEO of the Greater Halifax Partnership

M. McKenzie photo2HALIFAX, NS, November 28, 2014 -The Greater Halifax Partnership today announced that its Board of Directors has named Michele McKenzie to serve as the organization’s interim President and Chief Executive Officer.

Michele joins the Greater Halifax Partnership with over 25 years of broad based experience in the private sector, government, and Crown Corporation environment – most recently as President and CEO of the Canadian Tourism Commission and previously as Deputy Minister, Nova Scotia Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage and Executive Director, Tourism Nova Scotia division, Nova Scotia Department of Economic Development and Tourism. Michele is a recognized expert in marketing communications and tourism with a strong background in leadership, business development, and strategy execution. Michelle holds the ICD designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and is a graduate of Dalhousie University.

Paul A. Kent will remain in the role of President and CEO until December 31st, 2014. During this time, Paul will work with Michele to ensure a smooth transition that will keep the Partnership progressing forward while the selection committee takes the time to choose a new leader for the organization.

The Board has commenced a search for a permanent President and CEO. A selection committee chaired by Board Member Catherine Woodman includes members of the Board and Partnership investors.
